There are four kinds of lithium batteries: lithium iron phosphate battery, lithium manganate battery, ternary li-polymer battery and lithium cobaltate battery. At present, there are three mainstream lithium batteries, mainly lithium iron phosphate battery, lithium manganese battery and ternary li-polymer.
I. What are the types of lithium batteries?
1. Lithium batteries are classified according to their appearance: square lithium batteries (such as commonly used mobile phone batteries) and cylindrical batteries (such as 18650 batteries).
2, lithium battery outsourcing materials: aluminum-clad lithium battery, steel-clad lithium battery, soft-pack battery.
3. Lithium batteries are divided into positive and negative materials (additives): LiCoO2 battery or LiMn2O4 battery, lithium iron phosphate battery and disposable lithium manganese dioxide battery; Another point: lithium ion LIB, polymer PLB
II. Advantages, disadvantages and uses of lithium batteries
1. Lithium manganate battery
Lithium manganate battery is a battery using lithium manganate material as its anode. The nominal voltage of lithium manganate battery is 2.5~4.2v V. Lithium manganate battery is widely used because of its low cost and good safety.
Advantages: low cost, low price, good safety performance, good low temperature performance, and over 90% discharge efficiency at minus 20 degrees below zero.
Disadvantages: poor performance at high temperature, poor rate discharge, short cycle life, about 300 to 400 cycles, and easy to expand.
Application: Lithium manganate batteries in China are mainly used as power batteries, and are applied in the field of new energy vehicles.
2. Sanyuan li-polymer
Ternary li-polymer is a lithium battery whose positive electrode material is lithium nickel cobalt manganate or lithium nickel cobalt aluminate, which is balanced in capacity and safety. The precursor product of ternary cathode material is made of nickel salt, cobalt salt and manganese salt as raw materials, and the ratio of nickel, cobalt and manganese in it can be adjusted according to actual needs. The ternary lithium battery has higher energy density, but its safety is often doubted.
Advantages: high capacity, nominal capacity of 1250mAh, good cycle life, generally 600 to 700 times, better than normal lithium cobaltate, and good rate discharge.
Disadvantages: The battery has low energy density, the worst safety performance among the three batteries, and poor cycle stability and storage performance at high temperature.
Application: At present, ternary polymer lithium battery core is widely used in notebook battery field. Five major battery brands in the world, SANYO, PANASONIC, SONY, LG and SAMSUNG, have launched ternary battery core.
